NobleAcuff.com is powered by WordPress, the most popular – and completely free / open source – blogging and content management system on the web. WordPress is written in the popular PHP programming language and runs on top of the MySQL database. If you’re at all interested in setting up your own website or blog I highly recommend you look at WordPress first. If you need something that’s even more powerful and flexible try Drupal – it’s another amazing open source content management platform (it runs some sites you may have heard of like Whitehouse.gov). WordPress offers an incredible number of free themes, plugins, extensions, etc. available, and since it’s open source anyone can modify the underlying code.
The site is hosted at Rackspace; I think they’re one of the best hosting providers in the world. I use their managed email service for all of our mail accounts, and my websites all run on the Rackspace Cloud Server platform. A number of my clients are migrating there as well. If you’re not familiar with them have a look and see what you think. While they’re more expensive than many of the entry-level hosting providers, their customer service is phenomenal and their technical capabilities are world-class.
